With E3 2014 just around the corner, we decided to compile a list of Single Player games that have been confirmed, or heavily rumored, to show up. From the sprawling RPGs, to immersive horrors, to sequels upon sequels, E3 2014 has something for everyone.

(Thanks to Chris Penwell and Matt Bianucci for their contributions.)

Alien Isolation

With Creative Assembly taking a stab at making an Alien game as authentic to the movie as possible, Alien: Isolation is heating up as a big horror game for 2014. After confirming an E3 presence, it’ll be interesting to see how much the game has developed since its reveal earlier this year.

Assassin’s Creed Unity/Assassin’s Creed Comet

After weeks of rumors, screenshot leaks and a solitary gameplay trailer, Ubisoft is finally ready to show off in force the next chapter of the Asssassin’s Creed series, dubbed Assassin’s Creed Unity. Taking place during the French Revolution, the only info we know is that it’ll come out on PS4, Xbox One and PC only and has up to 10 studios working on it.

Comet, the rumored other half of Assassin’s Creed 5, has yet to be confirmed but is definitely going to have a huge onslaught of information revealed for E3.

The Evil Within

Shinji Mikami, creator of Resident Evil, is bringing horror back. His latest project The Evil Within, dubbed the spiritual successor of Resident Evil 4, is set to take horror back to its roots with limited inventories, deliberately slow movement and some of the most disgusting creatures your mind can fathom. You can expect this terror of a game to be making an appearance at this year’s E3.

Previously named Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy XV is an open world action RPG developed by the Kingdom Hearts team and headed by Tetsuya Nomura. Set for next generation consoles only, this title is fully using the new Luminous Engine, first shown by the tech demo Agni’s Philosophy, and has seamless field to battle transitions. The five characters of Final Fantasy XV will be wrapped up around a plot revolving a cold war between two nations for a crystal which is the last in existence and are attacked by an invasion from the other kingdom. Fans are hoping for a release date or window of this long developed title, 8 years in the making. Series producer Shinji Hashimoto confirmed the appearance of both Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 at E3 during a panel within the Thailand Comicon event earlier this month.

  1. Mirror’s Edge 2.

    1. There’s always one…
Mirror’s Edge 2 is now added to the list !

  2. If Mirror’s Edge 2 isn’t at E3, I will rip out some throats.

    1. If that rumored 2016 release date is true, then it might be just be a trailer to show it’s still in the works. However, I would love to be proven wrong! :)

  3. Halo 5: Guardians. :)

    1. Debated on adding that to the list quite a bit but Bonnie Ross said we wouldn’t hear more about the game until later this year. Maybe we’ll see something at E3, but not for sure.

      1. It isn’t single player focused either.

      2. You might want to check her Wire post again.

“We’ll give you much more information about our plans for this year at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9, and we’re confident that “Halo” fans will be pretty excited about the special plans we have in store.”

        1. About their Halo “plans”. Which is most likely talking about this year’s Halo release, assumed to be The Master Chief Collection. Don’t worry, we’ll cover Halo 5: Guardians, but we’re not sure how much of it we’ll see at E3. Either way, it’ll get added to the list soon.

        2. I’m pumped for Halo at E3…
From what I’ve seen some amazing Singleplayer games will be on both platforms this gen.

          Bring it on!

  4. Half of these games are multiplayer too

    1. We cover the single player campaigns of the games. Our coverage would be severely cut if we focused on single player “only” games. But we only ever focus on the single player campaigns of games, nothing more :)

  5. Final Fantasy XV *-*
It has been my most wanted game since I was a kid.
