After two years of development, solo developer Max Nielsen has released the first trailer for the animal-based puzzle-platformer The Long Return.
This third-person adventure follows an orphaned cub retracing the steps he last took with his mother.
During the journey the player will be challenged by puzzles—including, as seen in the trailer below, a Tetris-like minigame, among others—explore the scenery, and relive memories from the past.
The Long Return will be a brief experience, with only 2- 4 hours of gameplay. Although short, the game is aimed to relax players with beautiful scenery and a soft original soundtrack.
Speaking about the project, Niesen said, “I always wanted to make a puzzle/adventure game that didn’t try to be too smart, that everyone can enjoy and with a story that is gripping and easy to follow.”
The Long Return is now available to wishlist on Steam and is set to release in August 2019.
