Hello, Neighbor is an upcoming Stealth based Horror Game from the people over at Dynamic Pixels, creators of My Om Nom, Goal Defense, and several others. Hello, Neighbor marks the developer’s first fully fledged PC game that is not on Mobile Platforms.
Dynamic Pixels first introduced Hello, Neighbors through a Kickstarter campaign back in 2015 that had only received $12,809 of its $100,000 goal. Developer Dynamic Pixels was picked up by the publishing house tinyBuild, who have funded other projects such as Clustertruck, Dungelot, and SpeedRunners among other titles.
Hello, Neighbor touts a sophisticated AI that is able to “… [gather] information about the player’s actions, decisions, and movements”, this opens a wide variety of gameplay opportunities that allows the player and the A.I. to react realistically to the movements of one another. The primary objective of the game is to sneak into your Neighbors barricaded basement to “reveal his secrets”. Hello, Neighbor will engage the player and require them to intelligently place traps and use unique tactics to fight back against an A.I. that is equally as capable.
On a recent Reddit thread Alex Nichiporchik, CEO of tinyBuild and Producer on Hello, Neighbor, stated that Hello, Neighbor is the “biggest project” that the company has worked on. Nichiporchick went on to say that “…the game will play as a combination of sandbox and story progression”. He also went on to explain how the Neighbor will dynamically react to the player’s failed attempts.
For example, if the player frequently enters through the front door, in their next attempt the door may be locked and a bear trap may be waiting on the other side. This insinuates that no two play-throughs will be the same and will constantly require the player to evolve their tactics and methods to account for the A.I.’s uncanny ability to quickly adapt to any situation.
Hello, Neighbor is currently set for a Summer 2017 release date but will be opening a Public Alpha Test soon, if you’d like to sign up for that you can click here
