Grand Theft Auto royalty Leslie Benzies has announced work on a new IP.

The former Rockstar North president is collaborating with a group of heavy-hitters in the industry on a new game tentatively named Everywhere. While we do not have any notable names other than Benzies, an additional announcement was more-recently made for the opening of another studio in Budapest, Hungary to add to Benzie’s developer collective on the project. The Hungarian studio members include former Crytek Hungary studio head Kristoffer Waardahl, as well as as-yet unnamed veteran game developers.

Counting the Hungarian studio, the Everywhere team now includes three studios: Los Angeles, Budapest, and Edinburgh.

Specific and substantive details on the new IP are sparse. The initial press release itself provides readers with a vague but promising premise: a platform where players can be entertained and/or entertain others while blurring the lines between reality and a simulated world. Navigating to the game website doesn’t tell much more than that either beyond a similarly-themed hook that reads “A video game that simulates and fuses the real world with the virtual. Live your own stories as you live in ours.”

It is worth noting that Everywhere is being developed using AAA game engine Amazon Lumberyard (yes, that Amazon). Lumberyard, which is deeply integrated with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Amazon GameLift and Twitch, boasts deep cloud integration, powerful development tools and stunning graphics. In summation, Lumberyard is enabling Benzies’ team to create thrilling new gameplay possibilities, with a focus on building and hosting a global community for the future.
