David Jaffe

David Jaffe, best known for creating the Twisted Metal and God of War series, is working on a new single-player adventure.

Although no story or gameplay details are available, this project is expected to offer around three-to-four hours of gameplay, while being a story-based single-player-only affair.

Jaffe revealed baseline details of the project as part of a Twitter thread responding to a recent interview wherein Uncharted creator Amy Hennig criticised the scale of AAA games. While he expressed uncertainty about the commercial viability of the game, he emphasised that it will be the kind of thing he wants to play.

No further details were forthcoming, though Jaffe mentioned Inside, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Firewatch as some of his favourite recent games, which may give an idea of the scale he is planning.

However, how Jaffe will create this game is unknown, as his last development studio, Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency, was shuttered early last year after its only project Drawn to Death failed to make an impact and its subsequent project was cancelled.
