Obsidian and inXile Entertainment’s crowdfunded sequel Wasteland 2 just had its first gameplay footage released today. Around 17 minutes of turn-based hexagonal action are now available for your viewing pleasure.

I’m no intellectual when it comes to 90’s turn-based RPGs, but from what I’ve seen of this gameplay video, Wasteland 2 looks like it’s successfully capturing the apocalyptic spirit and atmosphere of games like the original Fallout. The hexagonal grid looks like a neat gameplay mechanic, and those graphics ain’t too shabby either considering this is a Kickstarter-funded project.

Let us know what you think! Wasteland 2 releases October 2013 for PC, Mac and Linux.
