Imagine waking up to find out that EA and Insomniac Games’ upcoming shooter Fuse has been delayed. Actually, you can stop imagining, because it’s now official: the game has been delayed and is now scheduled to release anywhere from April 1 to July 31.

VentureBeat has just reported that in a recent EA conference call between investors, the publisher announced that Fuse has been pushed back from its former release date of March and will now release in the next quarter of 2013. Peter Moore, chief operating officer, had the following to say during the conference:

“Ted Price and Insomniac Games are putting a lot of polish into fuse… The extra work will pay off for players.”

So in other words, the delay is a result of extra fine-tuning from Insomniac. Given that EA’s Q1 release schedule this year already has juggernauts like Dead Space 3, The Sims and Crysis 3 behind it, this is probably not a bad business move, plus it means a hopefully more polished game.
