The Forest

The Forest, the first-person survival game by Endnight, is receiving a VR update on May 22, allowing VR-ready players to become more immersed in the project’s foreboding open world.

In a statement on Steam on April 30, Daylight reiterated that the game has now left early access, but extended that on May 22, the developer will include a free update to allow VR play.

VR can be a somewhat broad term, but the developer has gone into detail about the depth of the VR mode, stating that the game’s HUD will be on the player character’s smart watch, along with a full 3D inventory and tree cutting motion controls.

For a studio of this size to adapt a non-VR game of this scale is unprecedented, with the largest VR conversions coming from developer powerhouses such as Bethesda with Skyrim.

For further details, along with patch notes and other updates, check out Daylight’s update on Steam. Before that, though, be sure to follow OnlySP on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
