New information has been released for the upcoming adventure title Syberia 3. This includes, for the first time, screenshots and gameplay footage.

After 7 years in relative silence besides an announcement of its existence, Microïds has released some new screenshots and a new video revealing the unusual new aesthetic style the series has shifted to: 3D rendering of environments.

According to Alison Derolez, production coordinator on the project, the aim was “a far more cinematic experience, with a lot of effects.” Sébastien Bousquet, the cinematic director, gave examples of these effects which includes “depth of field, lighting effects, motion capture based animations [and] handmade animations”.

Syberia 3 will be released on the 1st of December of this year. It will be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Below you can find the gameplay footage as well as screenshots/concept art.

We’ll be checking the game out at E3 for ourselves so stay tuned for further coverage by following us on Facebook and Twitter.
