Shovel Knight: King of Cards

Yacht Club Games has finally locked down a release date for the final two components of the Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove collection.

Originally scheduled for April 9, 2019, the ‘King of Cards’ story expansion and ‘Showdown’ brawler were pushed back for what was expected to be “several months—at most.”

The two add-ons will now release almost exactly eight months after that initial estimate, on December 10.

‘King of Cards’ is a sprawling single-player adventure, as players take on the role of King Knight on a quest through four new worlds to battle against the Three Kings. This expansion has also been described as the largest campaign in the entire Shovel Knight saga.

Meanwhile, ‘Showdown’ is a multiplayer-focused brawler.

Both pieces of content will be free for existing owners of Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. Alternatively, they can be purchased in isolation for USD$9.99.
