John Swihart is probably best known for his work on films such as Napoleon Dynamite and television shows such as How I Met Your Mother. His most recent project could not be more different.

Alongside legendary composer Tyler Bates (300Guardians of the Galaxy), Swihart most recently worked on the music for the latest entry in the Far Cry series, Far Cry New Dawn.

OnlySP’s Amy Campbell recently spoke to Swihart about his inspiration and processes behind the composition of Far Cry New Dawn‘s original soundtrack. Check out the full interview above!

“One of the coolest things they came up with, I thought, was the super bloom—the whole landscape with all the flowers. You have this sort of clash of beauty and aggression.”

New Dawn was named one of OnlySP’s Most Anticipated Games of 2019, as “a refreshing change for the series and one that allows the developer to bring back familiar characters and answer questions.”
