Fallout 3 and New Vegas have received significant content patches, sparking rumours that these updates may be paving the way for official remasters.

The patches were found on the SteamDB website, with both updates applied at the same time. Fallout 3‘s patch came in at a hefty 5.89GB, with New Vegas also being roughly 6GB in size. Both updates are listed under “Unknown app.” with the details of the patches hidden, adding fuel to the rumour mill.

Bethesda Game Studios, the developer of Fallout 3, has been making headlines with the Fallout 76 reveal recently, and the hype surrounding that project provides a near-perfect opportunity to revisit the Capital and Mojave wastelands.

Some users on Reddit have also claimed that Morrowind, Oblivion, and Rage have received similar patches. Morrowind was featured on OnlySP’s list of “Ten Games That Deserve A Modern Remake,” and would certainly be warmly welcomed.
