The Elder Scrolls VI Shirley Curry (Skyrim Grandma)

Bethesda has revealed some of the environment assets of its upcoming game The Elder Scrolls VI, along with a new NPC.

In a video celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls series, which started with the release of Arena in 1994, Bethesda revealed that Shirley Curry will be featured as a non-playable character in the upcoming title. Curry is known for her videos about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, donning the nickname “Skyrim Grandma”. She is also the subject of an upcoming documentary from OnlySP’s friends at Gameumentary.

Bethesda is going forth developing its technology for the game along with using photogrammetry to bring real-world environments into The Elder Scrolls VI. Photogrammetry is the process of taking a mass of picture of an item at all angles to create a 3D model.

Check out the full video below. Information on future games, including Curry’s appearance, begins at 8:27.

  1. Just got through watching the documentary. She wants to be made into a follower, I’d like that. I don’t think she’d like to be stuck behind some merchant stall all day. One commenter suggested maybe the headmistress of an orphanage who calls the children her grandchildren and tells them “Good morning, grandkids” every morning and “Goodnight grandkids” every evening, but is secretly a monster slayer. She’d certainly be a lot more kind than Grelod the (not so) Kind.

    1. I read this comment too, it’s such an awesome yet adorable idea lol
