Just a short update today as I get ready for a weekend of fun and revelries. We had another good month last month with over 100,000 hits, which is generally our metric for success right now. I’m also happy to see the “returning visitors” metric continue to grow, meaning not only are we getting new readers, but those readers are coming back. I hope this is a trend that continues. If you like our content, make sure you tell your friends…but just as important, make sure you bookmark the page and keep coming back!

Last month I talked a bit at length about Only Single Player’s review scores. You may have noticed nothing has changed. We’re still discussing our options at a group level. I didn’t want to just jump into such a drastic change in case I was overlooking something, and I think it’s equally important that the entire staff is on board with the change. I didn’t want to dictate such a change from on high. I wanted it to be a team effort to make something that was legitimately better for the reader and the reviewer, and it turns out that it’ll take a bit more time before we get there. I think the consensus is that our readers like review scores, however, and what we have right now is functional (if a bit messy), so it’s no big loss to stick with the 1-10 scale for the time being.

Content-wise we have another great month of Spotlights and Features coming up along with more reviews, which is nice. Our reviews team works hard, but I still feel like we miss a lot of stuff just by virtue of having such a small staff. So it’s nice to get rolling on those reviews (I might even be writing one in the upcoming month). Make sure you check those out and let us know your thoughts about the games as well. One of the best things about having a video game news website is the community and I already know our community is the best.

As always, make sure you’re following us on social media – Facebook and Twitter (@Official_OnlySP). We’re making a big push for social media this year and I’m happy to announce that we just surpassed 3,000 likes on Facebook last month. Let’s keep going!

As always, feel free to email me or comment on this article if you have any questions or concerns about our content. Keep on keeping on, single players!
