Star Wars

EA Vancouver’s open-world Star Wars project has been canceled, thus tainting EA’s reputation even further.

Today’s heartbreaking news comes from Kotaku’s Jason Schreier and marks the second disappointing update for the unannounced game. Kotaku says the information comes from three sources close to the project’s development.

The EA Vancouver project was made up of the remains of what Visceral Games was able to muster up before its own shutdown. Not much is known of what the game would have become, but the rumors were stunning.

Job listings told of an expansive open-world as well as a strong single-player narrative component. Kotaku’s report also suggests that rumors are pointing toward EA Vancouver carrying the torch for its own Star Wars project.

Michael fell into the OnlySP team toward the end of 2017. You’ll mostly catch his work over in the news area, but that doesn’t mean he won’t dip into the features section every now and then. For him, gaming doesn’t get much better than Metal Gear Solid and Super Mario Sunshine. Though he is a die-hard Nintendo fan, he grew up on PlayStation.
