EA Sports held its conference last week during the EA press conference at E3 and revealed the new Ignite engine that will be coming to Madden 25, FIFA 14, NBA Live 14 and EA Sports UFC. The engine will only appear on next gen consoles for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One but it will unfortunately not be able to translate onto the PC version of FIFA 14, the only remaining property EA still releases on PC. This is what they had to say in an interview with Polygon.

“Even though there were some PCs on the marketplace that could run that engine, the lion’s share of PCs on the marketplace could not,” said Wilson, referring to the technology that made it into FIFA 11. “And the majority of the gamer base that was playing the game on PC did not have a PC spec that would work with that.”

So, looking at what EA Sports is saying here is that , PC’s wouldn’t be able to support the Ignite engine for this falls releases. This will be the first time that two FIFA releases will be supported by different engines internally and could end up providing vastly different gameplay experiences. What do you guys think?
