After the announcement that storied voice actor, David Hayter, would not be returning for the role of Solid Snake, everyone including myself wondered who could they possibly replace him with? Then when the segment for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain came on, and it was clear who Hideo Kojima had chosen as the new Solid Snake; Jack Bauer (aka. Kiefer Sutherland).

Kojima discussed Kiefer’s role in creating a character that is more human then in previous Metal Gear games and in the Phantom Pain, Snake is 49 years old and he needed an actor that was able to convey the emotion and physical attributes of a man that age. Here is the full video of Kojima discussing Kiefer’s involvement in the game and Kiefer Sutherland himself.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s release date is still to be determined and will be releasing on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
