Black the Fall

Sand Sailor Studios has announced the surprise immediate release of its debut effort, Black the Fall, on the Switch.

Starting today, the well-received puzzle-platformer will be available to purchase digitally for USD$14.99 or equivalent, while users in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa will get a 10% discount if buying the game before January 23.

Black the Fall casts players as machinist in a science-fiction dystopia, aiming to escape from the rigours of the strict social system. The game is loosely inspired by the personal and familial experiences of the developers who grew up in Communist Romania.

The game originally launched in July last year, when OnlySP’s Mitchell Akhurst scored it as a Credit, saying “Without revolutionising any of its constituent parts the way that a true classic might… Black The Fall is exactly the kind of game the player should expect, and more, thanks to a little real-life context.”

Nintendo’s newest platform has become something of a home for indie games, with a host of ports already available and more, including Terraria, Hollow KnightSuper Meat Boy, and Outlast all scheduled for 2018.
