Dying Light, the upcoming zombie apocalypse game from Dead Island developers Techland, is doing its best to throw difficult situations in the player’s way. In a recent interview with game producer Tymon Smektala, it was revealed that Dying Light features a randomly generated event system, dubbed the “Dynamic Encounters system”. Similar to Left 4 Dead‘s Director, Dynamic Encounters “contextually generates random events just for you, based on your experience level, weapon, condition, etc.”
Participation in these dynamic encounters — as well as the dozen or so side quests — is completely optional, although they do provide opportunities for player growth and acclaim among fellow survivors, which in turn provides “new options, features and missions.”
Dying Light, published by Warner Bros., is coming to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2014.
