After losing out on the chance to become a PS4 launch title and undergoing months of  a delay, Driveclub finally has an updated release date.

Driveclub is now releasing October 8th, 2014, almost a full year after its original release date. The racer will still feature a free PS Plus version with a certain number of tracks and cars only available in the full version. You can check out the game in action in the trailer below.

  1. Those graphics though…

  2. Not trying to bash because I’m an Xbox owner, but I feel like this game’s gameplay looks really boring when we have The Crew on the table for a fall release. At least for my racing playstyle. I vastly prefer arcade-like gameplay in my racers, and the open-world aspect of The Crew will add even more to the fun, being able to romp across off-road terrain and through city streets. this trailer only shows racing on tracks, with performance cars. Not my style. *shrug*

    1. I’m just confused by the fact they have two big exclusive racing sims now. Gran Turismo and now DriveClub. Competition is good obviously, but I’d rather see a next-gen Motorstorm than another racing sim, but that’s just me. Game looks absolutely gorgeous though.

      1. Just to clarify, evolution has come out and blatantly said that this will not be a racing sim.. they are going for something in between arcadey and realistic for the handling, think something like project gotham racing i’m guessing.. and yes PLEASE a new motorstorm!

        1. True, but that’s just how the game plays though. It’s still all about the cars and racing them around good looking tracks rather than something creative. I bet it will be a good game and all, just not a lot of “new” I guess. In my honest opinion, until I play it, it’s more of a visual showcase for the PS4 than anything right now. Same as Forza 5 was for X1 I guess.
