Developer DONTNOD Entertainment’s Vampyr will receive a sizeable content update later this summer.
Alongside the expected run-of-the-mill tweaks and bugs fixes, Vampyr will acquire a notable update that will feature a new hard mode, as well as a story mode that puts a focus on narrative.
DONTNOD’s goal with this story mode is to give players who want to simply experience the game’s narrative a chance to do so with less challenging combat.
An update of this scale seems to be DONTNOD’s way of offering a well-rounded experience for players, regardless of their playstyle. OnlySP’s Damien Lawardorn scored the game as a Credit in his review, saying that “the game is enjoyable and engaging, [but] the apparent lack of courage in the strength of its more unusual ideas is slightly disheartening [and leaves] it feeling slightly toothless.”
