EA has confirmed that Star Wars: Battlefront will be at E3 2014. Might we find out if the game has a campaign?
EA has stated quite recently that all of their upcoming Star Wars games would be canon, so if the upcoming Battlefront does indeed have a campaign, it will be official canon and not from the expanded universe of Star Wars.
EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, relayed in the financial call that occurred earlier today that DICE’s version of Star Wars: Battlefront is, “coming along very, very well.” So hopefully we’ll get to see the game in action or at least a trailer of what’s to come from the highly anticipated title. Last year at E3 we got a brief teaser trailer for the game which you can see just below. The game is being developed on Frostbite 3.0, the same engine that’s currently being used to develop Dragon Age: Inquisition.
If the game does not include some sort of campaign, we’ll have to avoid covering it here at OnlySP, so be sure to cross your fingers and hope for the best because I’m certainly one that would love to cover this game. Personally I hope the campaign is something like Republic Commando, that was one of the best FPS campaigns I played leading up to the next-generation of games and have been hoping for a sequel or something related for quite some time.
