SOEDESCO Publishing’s adventure racing game Defunct has made its console debut today with its release for the Xbox One.

Today’s release marks the first of Defunct‘s console ports, with a PlayStation 4 version set to arrive in January 2018. Additionally, a Windows 10 version of the game is in the works, and the title will be available in the future as an Xbox Play Anywhere title across the entire Xbox One family of devices.

Originally released on Steam in January 2016, Defunct‘s gameplay has been compared to titles within the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Steam reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and a number of players have praised the game’s gravity-based gameplay. Defunct features high-speed play with a unique ‘gravitation engine’; 11 varied levels full of different climates, biomes, and challenges; a multitude of skins for the main character; and more.
