Deck13 has released some new screenshots from The Surge today that look quite a bit more colorful than the last time we saw the game.

The Surge will be presented at E3 this year and we most certainly plan on attending the developer’s presentation to learn more about the game and see it in action. The press release sent out to us today provides us with some new details on the game’s main protagonist. You can read them just below:

CREO factory employee Warren, equipped with a highly advanced mechanical exoskeleton designed to assist in heavy industrial labour. Start your journey as a new CREO applicant, in a massive international company dedicated to repairing the atmosphere and addressing climate control. Soon, danger rears its ugly head, and you will have to upgrade your exoskeleton to fight and survive.

Combat in The Surge will allow you to target specific limbs on enemies enabling a more tactical combat experience. Removing limbs from enemies will create loot that the player can use to upgrade their own exoskeletons.

Some pre-alpha footage from the game was posted online back in March which looked quite good for such an early state. You can check out the footage for yourself by following the link. The new screenshots from the game can be seen at the bottom of the article.

The Surge is due out on the PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2017. Stay tuned for more details on the game as E3 quickly approaches by following OnlySP on Facebook and Twitter.
