Death Stranding

Hideo Kojima is preparing a 49-minute long demonstration for Death Stranding at Tokyo Game Show that should provide the best look at the game to date.

On Twitter, Kojima has promised that the new footage will reveal the “basic flow” of Death Stranding. This understanding will be enabled by the fact that the mission on display takes place approximately one-third of the way through the game.

The decision to share a trailer rather than live footage is motivated by several factors. First, the stage environment requires that the player not fail the section. Second, the online functionality may be too spotty to work effectively. Finally, preparing in advance allows maps and items to be edited to remove spoilers.

To date, Kojima Productions has kept the nature of Death Stranding under wraps, focusing on its innovative properties, which has led Kojima to term it a Social Strand System.

However, some details have been revealed, such as the absence of a traditional game over state, the presence of a Very Easy mode, and the fact that players will be able to direct the protagonist to urinate.
