The second round of auctions for THQ’s intellectual property ended today with most of the companies assets finding new homes. Two franchises that we’ve been keeping a close eye on in the hopes of finding a relatively good home found one today. Both the Darksiders and Red Faction franchises have been bought by publisher Nordic Games today. If you’ve never heard of them, they are most recently known for publishing Alan Wake on the PC platform.

Red Faction and Darksiders aren’t the only two franchises Nordic acquired today however. The company also acquired some franchises that have been in hibernation for quite sometime such as Destroy All Humans! (one of my favorite games of my childhood btw) Full Spectrum Warrior, Titan Quest and others. One other title they picked up that I would like to note is The Outfit. Released all the way back at the beginning of the Xbox 360’s lifetime, it’s a game that’s still fun for me and my buddies to play to this day. I recommend you pick it up on the 360 if you’ve never tried it. You can find it at Gamestop for under $5.00.

Hopefully we hear some more info on what they plan to do with these franchises in the near future. Maybe Nordic can even bring the Red Faction series back in a big way next-gen using the GeoMod technology. Be sure to check back for more updates on the THQ auction as they come in.
