If you’re hoping for a third entry in the Darksiders series, Nordic and Gunfire Games may be preparing to deliver.
In a discussion thread on Steam’s Community forums for the Deathinitive Edition of Darksiders 2, a Nordic/Gunfire Games representative talked about how the recent remaster was used to gauge interest for Darksiders 3.
Here’s the full quote:
“Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition was just the start. Since we acquired the franchise we were looking for options for doing a DS3. The remaster was just a way to get some spotlight on the franchise again, reactivate the community and have a better starting position for DS3.”
We haven’t seen sales numbers yet so it’ll be interesting to see if there was enough press and sales for Nordic Games to give the go ahead on the third entry in the franchise. Gunfire Games is currently working on a VR third-person adventure RPG called Chronos. We recently spoke with the developers about that game and if you’d like to learn more you can check out the link.
An official Darksiders 3 announcement would probably be enough to get the game on people’s radars, but we’re probably still a ways off from that announcement. We’ll keep an eye for any further news on Darksiders 3 so stay tuned to OnlySP.
