Cyberpunk 2077 is the latest game from CD Projekt RED, the developers of the critically acclaimed The Witcher series. Like the team’s previous offerings, it is an RPG based in an established universe, this time that of the Cyberpunk pen-and-paper series. As the name implies, it is set in 2077 and features a futuristic world where postmodern technology exists alongside a degenerated human society. The main setting is the sandbox of Night City and it will be home to deep character customisation and a non-linear story. The information we know paints it as an interesting game with the potential of excellence, but we’re likely to be able to pass more clear judgement in around about a week’s time.

Tom Ohle, one of the PR folks representing the game leaked that he had been watching the trailer via Twitter. That particular Tweet now seems to have been removed, but the thread that it inspired remains, with Ohle presenting a positive reaction to it:

The trailer should help. Seriously, I love it. Speaking as a fanboy, and not as the PR guy.

He also states that it will be should be made available publicly in the near future, in response to the frenetic questioning of a fan:

You can’t see it yet, dingus. Next week. Ish.

Vague, but better than nothing. We’ll make sure to get this footage for you just as soon as we’re able, so keep your eyes peeled.

  1. I am excited about this game. CD Projekt RED is a great company from what I have read. They care for the players and don&#039t nickle and dime us. I bought the Witcher when it came out and loved it. Then a year later they gave us the enhanced edition for free when they could have very well charged for DLC. I will support them just for the values they hold as a company.
