Fans of the cyberpunk ethos have a new game to look forward to in 2019, with Conglomerate 451 set to hit Steam Early Access later this year.
While the developer RuneHeads has not specified a launch date, it expects the project to be in Early Access for at least six months. During that time, the team plans to add “five or six times the content compared to the initial version.”
The game itself is a first-person, grid-based RPG, seemingly not dissimilar to the recently released Vaporum. However, the developer notes the inclusion of roguelike elements, where player agents can permanently die while on missions.
Players manage a team of cloned agents, upgrading them through research and development, while sending them out on efforts to bring down the oppressive megacorporations present in the city of Conglomerate.
Adding unexpected depth is the presence of a trauma system, whereby agents can receive permanent status effects as a result of taking damage. While that system will be present in the initial release, others, including drugs, diplomacy, and mental disorders, will not be added until later in development.
Conglomerate 451 will launch to Early Access “soon,” with a full launch expected at some point later this year. At present, the game has only been announced for PC.
