The more I hear about the Oculus Rift and the games that are coming to it, the more excited I get. I said the other week I was really only excited for games like Robinson: The Journey and the recently announced, Golem from Highwire Games, but my list is quickly growing. Ace Combat 7 was added to that list, along with Crytek’s latest game announcement, The Climb.

Even though heights are my greatest fear, there’s something immensely intriguing about conquering that fear through a VR experience. I can’t say I won’t pass out while playing ‘The Climb’, but I’m more than willing to give it a try in the near future. Here’s the official description of the game from a press release sent out by Crytek this morning:

The Climb invites thrill-seekers to experience the ultimate in extreme sports by going beyond the point of no return and scaling deadly cliff faces unaided. The game boasts hyper-realistic climbing locations from around the world, and players will discover the freedom of gaming with the Rift using either an Xbox One controller or Oculus Touch controllers as they soak up their awe-inspiring surroundings.

The first trailer for the game was released alongside the announcement. You can check it out at the bottom of the article. The Climb is expected to release in 2016 alongside the Oculus Rift, but no formal announcement was made as we still don’t have a release date announcement for the Oculus Rift itself yet.  The game will be exclusive to the Oculus Rift and can be played using either the Oculus Rift’s controllers or an Xbox One gamepad.
