Minecraft, Mojang’s sandbox crafting game, is doing okay. Well, better than okay. This week, Patrick Gueder, a data analyst for Mojang, announced on Twitter that the game has sold close to 54 million units. Also in this announcement was the surprising revelation that consoles versions of the game have now outsold the PC and Mac.
Minecraft console editions together just passed Minecraft for PC/Mac. And across all platforms we’ve sold almost 54 million copies.

This number should only increase as Minecraft is set to hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation Vita this August. There have also been some rumblings of the game making its way to Nintendo consoles.
