Ode to a Moon, Colorfiction

Following its remarkably novel surrealism simulator 0°N0°W, Colorfiction has announced a new title called Ode to a Moon.

On Twitter, the developer described the game as a “dark magical realism tale.” On the surface, Ode to a Moon appears to be more linear and genre-focused than 0°N0°W. Unlike that game, this new project features a more lucid plot, as players assume the role of an investigative journalist.

Set after a harvest moon festival, Ode to a Moon seems significantly darker that the developer’s previous work. Borrowing from the aesthetics of Nightline, the visuals mark the distinction between darkness and colour.

The game will feature narration and voice memos for plot points, as opposed to Colorfiction’s previous reliance on visual cues. In a Twitter reply, the developer stated it is looking to match these memos with “an interesting mechanism.”

No release date has been revealed as of yet, but the developer is aiming to drop the project “hopefully next year”. For more on the project, check out the trailer, embedded below, and be sure to follow OnlySP on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
