Wired Productions and Storm in a Teacup have announced that the highly anticipated Close to the Sun will be an Epic Games Store exclusive for a year after it releases.
The news comes as the latest high-profile scalping from Steam, following The Division 2, Metro Exodus, and Hades, among others.
The publisher also revealed that Close to the Sun is now available for pre-purchase for USD$29.99, though no release date is yet locked in.
In the game, players take the role of a journalist, Rose Archer, who boards Nikola Tesla’s opulent ship, the Helios. Initially searching for her sister, she uncovers a world in which something has gone dreadfully wrong.
More details about the story are available here.
One of the main draws of the Epic Games Store for developers is the higher percentage that they are paid for purchases made on the platform when compared to Steam. OnlySP’s Ben Newman recently explored just how that might benefit single-player-focused developers.
