Speaking exclusively with OnlySP, Michał Krzemiński, Senior Art Producer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt told us a few new details about their upcoming open-world RPG.

One of the trends following the next-generation of games has been cross-gen titles. Some are OK with this, others believe it’s holding back the true potential of next-generation games to produce more sales across multiple platforms. When speaking to Krzemiński, we asked; what really makes The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt a next-generation title?

Krzemiński explained, “I think that it’s the way we combine the story with the world and the graphics that power that process. Our aim is for gamers to say to themselves, OK, so this is how next gen looks and plays when they first launch the game.”

In addition to the games’ sprawling open-world, CD Projekt RED has been hard at work implementing new and smaller details into the game such as Nividia’s FurTech and SpeedTree. In terms of the gameplay, you can expect a much more fluid combat experience due to “next-gen combat animations” and of course, “no QTE’s” (Quick Time Events – or, context-sensitive actions in the game). Krzemiński, continued, “When it comes to gameplay, we have a very clear vision of how the game should play, so we haven’t made too many changes; I’d rather call them tweaks based on internal testing feedback. We have a roadmap and we’re sticking to it.”

We’ll have more details to share on The Witcher 3 on Thursday, so be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date.
