Prior to XO19, Phobia Game Studio and Devolver Digital have announced that Carrion will release on PC and Xbox One sometime next year.

Carrion was revealed at E3 2019 and follows up Phobia’s side-scrolling action title Butcher. The game flips the script of conventional horror titles, marketing itself as a “reverse horror game.”

Carrion‘s Steam page, where it can currently be added to wishlists, describes the game as follows:

CARRION is a reverse horror game in which you assume the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origin. Stalk and consume those that imprisoned you to spread fear and panic throughout the facility. Grow and evolve as you tear down this prison and acquire more and more devastating abilities on the path to retribution.”

Though no specific release date has been announced, Carrion will launch for PC and Xbox One in 2020. The game will be playable at X019 in London, November 14–16.
