In a recent interview with MCV, marketing boss Michael Pattison has admitted that Resident Evil 6 was “too bloated” and has claimed that the next Resident Evil will return to the classic horror elements. Capcom’s PR have paid attention to all the comments and negative feedback for Resident Evil 6 which attempted to combine both action and horror with separate campaigns. “The Leon missions went down very well” Pattison said to MCV. “there was a cry out for us to focus our attention on survival horror, rather than be too many things to all people.”

While some gamers may say that the golden age of zombies has come and gone, Capcom feels that “it is still alive and well. The Last of Us shows a good direction of what the consumers want.” What do you think? Has Resident Evil‘s action campaigns turned you off from the series or will you be back for more with the next instalment? Let us know below in the comment or in the forums.
