Shenmue Remake

Sega originally planned to release a Shenmue remake and has footage to prove it.

Eurogamer posted a story and video on Monday morning detailing what the cancelled Shenmue remake would have offered. Updated graphics, art, and character renders are easily the standouts, but be sure to check out the full Digital Foundry video below.

The Shenmue remake would have been quite the improvement over the now released remasters of Shenmue I and II. According to the article, the remake made quite a bit of progress before cancellation due to time and budget constraints.

Shenmue III is on the horizon though, so fans will still get to peer into Sega’s universe with modern-day graphics.
