Campo Santo

Famed development studio and gaming service provider Valve has acquired Campo Santo, the developer behind the highly acclaimed Firewatch.

The announcement was made yesterday on Campo Santo’s official blog, where the company outlined why the new partnership was formed. According to the post, both studios felt as though their philosophy of “surprising, delighting, and entertaining the customers who have shared in [their] success” was shared by the other team, and that sentiment was reinforced following “a series of long conversations.”

To ensure the success of the partnership, the twelve members of the development team will relocate from San Francisco to Valve’s headquarters in Bellevue, Washington.

Despite the change in ownership, Campo Santo has promised that little will change internally. The team will continue to support Firewatch and publish The Campo Santo Quarterly Review, as well as working on its upcoming project, In the Valley of Gods.
