Some more details have been dropped by Shinobi602 today regarding the upcoming Call of Duty title from Infinity Ward.
Just the other day, Shinboi teased that the next Call of Duty would make Black Ops III feel like “the Stone Age“. Taking a look around the internet, it doesn’t seem too many are thrilled to hear that, and were hoping for the series to make a return to World War 2 or other period of war. However, some of the new details dropped today might be a little bit more enticing.
In a post on NeoGAF Shinobi has said that Infinity Ward’s upcoming Call of Duty title is “nothing like Ghosts”, which was arguably one of the worst Call of Duty entries in the franchise thus far. As far as the tech goes in the game, he continued on to say there will be “combat in spaceships (this No Man’s Sky)”, and “not just around Earth”.
One has to wonder if we’ll be travelling to other planets for combat scenarios, which could be really cool. The game will also feature a “central hub area that’s a form of living space station,” Shinobi said. “Think the Battlestar Galactica loading bay.”
Black Ops III utilized a feature somewhat similar to this where players could explore a small hub area to get some extra story details and prepare their loadout and appearance for their character in the campaign. If Infinity Ward is taking this concept a step further, I’m rather excited to see what they come up with.
Keep in mind none of this info has been confirmed so treat it as a rumor for now. Shinobi has a proven track record when it comes to leaking information about upcoming games, however, so there’s a good chance this info is true.
