David Eddings, Borderlands’s original Claptrap voice actor, claims Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford allegedly assaulted him back in 2017.
During a few posts on Twitter, Eddings clarified some of the reasons he will not be returning for the upcoming Borderlands 3. Along with a physical assault at GDC 2017, Eddings alleges that Pitchford had also been stalking him on social media.
I ultimately offered to do it for “free” in exchange for past royalties owed plus an apology for something I’ve never spoken about publicly until now: Randy physically assaulted me in the lobby of the Marriott Marquis at GDC 2017.

Eddings goes on in the thread to describe Pitchford siphoning money as well as other behind-the-scenes details.
Today’s news follows a Twitter rant that the CEO found himself in a few days ago just after Borderlands 3’s gameplay reveal event. Thanks to a report from Kotaku earlier this year, both Gearbox and publisher 2K Games found themselves tied up in controversy earlier this year thanks to more allegations directed toward Pitchford.

I think the voice actor assualted me 3 years ago with his voice.
He did the job he was hired to do, so no one cares if it didn’t live up to your standards, fanboy.
