2K Games has announced that Borderlands 3‘s PC release will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store at launch.
The game will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 13, 2019. The PC release will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for the first six months, coming to “additional PC digital storefronts” in April 2020, according to the press release.
“We are excited to be partnering with Epic who recognise [the series’] worldwide popularity and share in our commitment to bring Borderlands 3 to this rapidly expanding audience,” said 2K president David Ismailer.
Gearbox Software CEO and president Randy Pitchford made clear on Twitter that 2K is responsible for the publishing decisions for the game, not Gearbox.
2K/Take Two has exclusive publishing rights for Borderlands 3 and makes all decisions regarding price-points, territories, distribution and platform partnerships. Please direct all inquiries regarding any of those topics to 2K. We are *just* the talent. 1/3
