Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Based on its recent release trailer, ArtPlay, the developer behind Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, seems to have heard the community’s feedback loud and clear.

Koji Igarashi, the brain behind Bloodstained, delayed the title’s release a second time in August last year due to concerns about quality after receiving scathing responses from backers during a beta demo.

This delay also came with the cancellation of Bloodstained‘s PlayStation Vita release. In December, planned support for Mac and Linux was also dropped.

Just hours ago, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night‘s release date trailer surfaced on YouTube.

In the video, screenshots of feedback received via Steam and several forum communities are shown. The quotes that the trailer highlights are not the nicest, to put it lightly. A particular user compares the game’s art style to “poop,” which earns its own special reference in the video.

After previewing a cleaner, crisper, and more vibrant art style, the trailer ends showing June 18, 2019, as Bloodstained‘s official release date. The game is set to launch for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
