Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, Inti Create’s ode to classic 8-bit Castlevania design, has an official trailer ahead of the time capsule’s May 24 release.

The game, not to be confused with Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night which is also set for release this year, was a stretch goal reward for backers of Ritual of the Night on Kickstarter. The trailer is opened by a candid video of Igarashi as he explains what he thinks about the game, stating that it has a lot of “retro charm” and that he had a “great deal of fun” with the side-project.

As opposed to Ritual of the Night, Curse of the Moon is an attempt to replicate older Castlevania titles, harkening back to NES classics like Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Aesthetically, Curse of the Moon is drenched in 8-bit tropes, with the colours, music, and character design mirroring that era.

The trailer, embedded below, comes with a confirmation of platforms, including 3DS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Xbox One. The project is a cheap USD $9.99, but certain backers who pledged over $28 for Ritual of the Night on Kickstarter will receive a code for free.
