Blade Runner

A remastered edition of the classic point-and-click adventure Blade Runner has been announced.

Revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, Blade Runner will be receiving a remaster on Nintendo Switch, PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this year. The game will be helmed by a partnership between Alcon Entertainment and Nightdive Studios. The latter previously worked on restorations of System Shock and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

The game’s original source code was lost due to Westwood Studios’s relocation to Los Angeles in 2003. However, according to Larry Kuperman, head of business development, Nightdive had reverse-engineered the code and imported its own KEX engine.

Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition will feature updated character models and animations, keyboard and controller customization, and widescreen resolution support.
