Burden of Command

Green Tree Games has revealed that a veteran actor is joining the ranks for its upcoming war simulation RPG Burden of Command.

After days of teasing, the team revealed that Shane Taylor, who played Cpl. Eugene “Doc” Roe in the 2001 miniseries Band of Brothers, will take on the role of Sergeant Grant, a key character in the game.

The team shared a brief clip of Taylor’s contribution to the game (embedded below).

Burden of Command will not be Taylor’s first foray into video games, as he has previously provided voice overs for XCOM 2, Blood & Truth, and Forza Horizon 3.

Burden of Command follows a commander during World War II, with the intention of providing a gritty, realistic experience that challenges the player to make difficult tactical decisions. Alongside this comes an emotional narrative that aims to make the user connect with their soldiers, rather than seeing them as disposable assets.

OnlySP spoke to the game’s creative director Luke Hughes back in 2017 about some of the overarching aims of the project.

No release date has yet been announced, though the game is expected to arrive on PC.
