Atari, gave some unexpected news today, by announcing that two of their classic and dormant franchises will be rebooted. Next weekend at PAX, Atari will reveal their plans for rebooting Alone in the Dark and Haunted House for PC.

The Haunted House series was last released on Nintendo Wii and Xbox Live Arcade in 2010, and Alone in the Dark’s last entry was in 2008 on Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, and PC.  No details have been released about their plans but expect more at PAX Prime next weekend. The new teaser released is titled, Alone in the Dark: Illumination.

PAX Prime starts on August 29th and goes to September 1st, and I will be there to report on all the latest news as it is announced. Its good to see more Survival-Horror series getting rebooted, and is just more proof that the genre is coming back.
