Assassin’s Creed Unity is the next entry in the Assassin’s Creed series and it’s planning to shake up a lot of things for the franchise. Not just by including four player co-op, or a crouch button but by revamping the series infamous tailing sections into much more dynamic events.

According to a recent post on the Ubi Blog, Assassin’s Creed Unity is focused on introducing a brand new “Adaptive Mission Mechanic”. When you’re tailing a Templar target and you somehow are detected, the game will not give you the classic “You’ve been spotted” game over. Instead, your objectives will change dramatically and the tail might become a chase or if you lose your target, you may have to resort to locating his destination.

Other situations include your target getting killed by riots/actions, leading to you searching his body for clues to discover where he was supposed to go.  However, to combat the simple idea of  just “killing a guy to search him for clues”, the AMM will cause consequences for such reckless behavior including more patrols for future missions.

So what do you guys think? Are you happy to see the back end of the boring old “Don’t ever be seen” tailing missions? I know I am.

  1. sounds really great ! i still wonder how they could not even mentioin AC Comet…i mean ps3 and xbox 360 are still a pretty big part of ac players….i wonder when they will make a statement to this

    1. I am also anxiously awaiting mention of Comet but the suspense is forcing me to realize the time to upgrade consoles may come sooner than later.

      1. yeah sure…it is a nessassary step! i am a pc gamer anyway and i am pissed by the fact that last gen port slowed everything down for the last years…so next gen only is really comming fast but i meant since everyone knows about ac comet thefact that they didnt even mention it was wheired…

I did not have a lot of problems with the tailing section but the idea of not knowing what your mission will end up to be is just awesome I told I had some fun with it but it was always predictable yeah I will tail that dude until he reach a closed location then I can assassinate him or everything goes shit and we start a fight

  3. Wow the game is released and I have never seen this feature in action ONCE.Dissapointed.

    1. Technically, yes, it does have it. Some assassination missions have multiple unique ways to infiltrate the location of and neutralize the target, such as poisoning drinks versus the classic hidden blade kill, for instance
