Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. The next Assassin’s Creed game has finally been leaked.

Sources at Kotaku have released information on one of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed games set to release this fall. The first project, potentially codenamed Unity, is apparently planned for release on the PS4 and Xbox One, while a separate project codenamed, Comet, is being prepared for release on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

According to the information Kotaku received, Unity is set during the French Revolution and will feature a new Assassin named, Arno. Kotaku has a number of leaked images from the early build of the project on their article which we will not post here, so if you want to check those out, follow the link.

I wouldn’t at all be surprised if Ubisoft announces the next Assassin’s Creed titles during GDC or the week immediately following.

  1. I read a more detailed report on Polygon, and honestly, I don’t buy it. Two big “AAA” level games in one year targeted at DIFFERENT platforms? No…that is just stupid, and Ubisoft is simply not stupid.

    1. I wouldn’t be surprised if the second project was an ongoing port, which forever reason has significant enough differentiation in resources to justify its own title.

In any event, having used uPlay and dealt with game-breaking save bugs that can be fixed client-side with a simple .bat file, I’m not sure assuming that Ubisoft can’t make major mistakes is a safe bet.
