During Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed panel at E3 2017’s coliseum, Ashraf Ismail—director of Assassin’s Creed: Origins—revealed a morsel’s worth of information regarding multiple playable characters.

While Assassin’s Creed: Origins is primarily supposed to be Bayek’s story, certain parts of the campaign will be played through the eyes of other characters. Ismail did not specify further about the game’s other characters.

Moreover, Ismail confirmed that Origins will not feature any online multiplayer. The director emphasized that the game is a single-player experience, because the team wants to focus on the game’s protagonist (Bayek) and the formation of the Assassins’ Brotherhood. Online components related to the game’s campaign will exist, but an actual online multiplayer will not be featured in Origins. The first Assassin’s Creed game to feature online multiplayer was Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, which was a large success and one of the most popular games in the series to date.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins is an upcoming action-adventure stealth video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. The game is the tenth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the first game after the franchise’s two-year hiatus. Origins is set to release on October 27, 2017, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game will also run in native 4K on Microsoft’s Xbox One X, which is set to release on November 7, 2017.
