As expected, The Game Awards 2018 gave viewers a first look at gameplay for Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, developed by Panache Games and led by the creator of the Assassin’s Creed series.

Described as “a single-player, open world, exploration survival game”, players will control a variety of humankind’s ancestors in Africa through their struggle for survival, as they evolve from prehistoric great apes into more advanced creatures.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and a further twenty minutes of gameplay footage released shortly after The Game Awards can be found here.
